TIBURON, Marin County — November 4, 2026. The first late-night returns for Tiburon’s Town Council election showed Jack Ryan, Chuck Hornbrook and Kathleen M. DeFever in the top three positions. Five people were competing for three seats, so the results must be understood as a multi-seat race rather than a single winner-take-all mayoral election.
What the county results showed
KQED’s 11:13 p.m. November 3 election report listed Jack Ryan with 1,177 reported candidate selections (25.1%), Chuck Hornbrook with 1,117 (23.8%) and Kathleen M. DeFever with 998 (21.3%). Additional candidates Faris Jafar and Alice Fredericks were also on the ballot; NBC Bay Area’s earlier report placed them at 747 and 642, respectively.
Do not confuse votes with turnout
Residents could vote for up to three candidates in this contest. The reported percentages represent shares of candidate selections and do not say that a particular percentage of all registered voters endorsed each candidate.
